Progress in the study of noncovalent interactions and their influence on chemical processes is especially noticeable in the last 5–10 years. Noncovalent interactions are widespread in Nature and contribute to the bonding of chemical systems. Compared to covalent bonds, intra- and intermolecular noncovalent interactions are usually weak and have much lower energy and directionality, which is reflected in the term “noncovalent”. Due to the active development of these topics during recent years, most achievements in chemistry in the 21st century will be largely determined by noncovalent interactions.
The International Symposium “Noncovalent Interactions in Synthesis, Catalysis, and Crystal Engineering” will be dedicated to a wide range of topics associated with noncovalent interactions. It will include, but not limited to, various aspects of noncovalent bonding both in a solid and in a liquid phase: experimental and theoretical methods, noncovalent interactions in chemical and catalytic transformations, as well as their role in supramolecular chemistry, crystal design and preparation of tectons for the assembly of supramolecular structures.
The symposium will be held in a hybrid format, with online participation of invited foreign speakers. The symposium program includes plenary, key, oral, and poster sessions, as well as flash presentations.
Languages Russian, English. Abstracts should be submitted in English.
